“No Mixing.”
BF Larsen Gallery February 2021
Mixed Media on Intaglio Prints 15 x 22

No. 1: No Mixing. (The purposeful (& not accidental) racial hierarchy that is segregation.)

No. 2: The Foreboding Prospect of Mixing. (“The South doesn’t care how close a Negro gets, just so he doesn’t get too high. The North doesn’t care how high he gets just so he doesn’t get too close.”)

No. 3: Then the White Man screamed, “No Mixing.”

No. 4: A Happy Post-Racial Era of Mixing. (Mixed bodies blurring the racial hierarchy that is segregation.)

No. 5: Mixing Bodies not Homes. (Using mixed bodies to evince a post-racial era despite the purposeful (& not accidental) mono-racial hierarchy that is segregation.)

No. 6: Mixing, not Matching. (Social acceptance, depending on how approachable and white someone’s phenotype and culture is—in a post-racial era.)

No. 7: A post-racial era White Man whispers, “No mixing.”

No. 8: Not-Racist White People Who Happen to not be Mixing in a Post-Racial Era.

No. 9: Humanizing Mixing. (An unrealized post-racial era landscape.)

No. 10: No Mixing. (The purposeful (& not accidental) racial hierarchy that is segregation.)
